7/16/2014 - Forgery and Fraud Macy`s Department Stores

Synopsis: On Thursday July 3, 2014 a forgery occurred at the Macy’s Department Store inside South Park Mall.  A salesperson working at the jewelry display case was approached by an unknown female suspect.  The female suspect selected several pieces of jewelry, paid for the items by check, and then left with the merchandise.  It was later discovered that the check was forged.  Later that day, employees at the Macy’s Department Store inside North Star Mall recovered one of the items illegally obtained by the female suspect.  An unknown male suspect presented the item, claimed he had purchased it, and wanted to return it.  The unknown male left the store and the item when approached by a manger.   Surveillance cameras at both locations recorded the suspects during the act.  Investigators believe both suspects were working together.

7/16/2014 - Murder Victim Sean Cannon

Complainant: Sean Cannon (29)                                                           

Synopsis: On Friday October 25, 2013 at approximately 1:30am Sean Cannon was shot several times. Sean was transported to the hospital but later died as a result of the injuries he sustained from being shot. Witnesses reported a white, late 90`s model Ford Expedition leaving the area. The vehicle was occupied by a male and a female.

7/15/2014 - Murder Victim Daniel Gonzales

Synopsis: On Sunday October 14, 2012 Daniel Gonzales was murdered at The Westwood Plaza Apartments located in the 2500 block of Westward Drive.  Mr. Gonzales was standing in front of apartment building fifteen with two other men when a sport utility vehicle drove up and stopped near them.  The suspect(s) inside the vehicle exchanged words with Mr. Gonzales and the two other men, then suddenly raised a gun and fired shots at the three.  Mr. Gonzales was struck in the head and died later at the hospital.

7/14/2014 - Capital Murder Victim Patricia Torres Paz

Complainant: Patricia Torres Paz (35)                                                         

Synopsis: On Wednesday February 28, 1996 at approximately 12:50 PM the body of Patricia Torres Paz was discovered by family members at her home in the 700 block of Well St. Rocksprings, TX.  The Edwards County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Rangers, and the Bexar County Medical Examiner ‘s Office determined that Mrs. Paz was the victim of a violent murder.  Mrs. Paz was a homemaker and had a history of mental illness.

7/3/2014 - Burglary San Antonio Public Library Westfall Branch

Synopsis: On Friday June 20, 2014 an unknown male burglarized the Westfall Branch public library located at 6111 Rosedale.  Surveillance cameras at the location recorded the suspect as he used force to enter the library.  Once inside the suspect proceeded to remove a locked money box from a photo copy machine.  Investigators believe the suspect is the same actor in several burglaries to other public libraries.

Synopsis: On Saturday May 4th, 2013 at approximately 5:15 p.m. Noe Hernandez was found deceased by his family members in doorway of his home located in the 600 block of Rigsby. Noe had been shot by an unknown assailant.

6/20/2014 - Robbery-Business Dollar General 5831 Old Pearsall Rd.

Synopsis:  On Sunday June 1, 2014 a robbery occurred at the Dollar General located at 5831 Old Pearsall Rd.  Two male suspects entered the business, gathered several items, and approached a cashier.  The cashier rang the merchandise up,  bagged the items, and presented the total.  When the suspects failed to pay for the items the cashier removed the bag and placed it behind the counter.  One of the suspects then went behind the counter, and injured the cashier by using force to grab the bagged merchandise.  Both suspects then fled the location on foot with the stolen items into a ditch behind the store.  Surveillance video at the location recorded the act.

6/17/2014 - Burglary Dollar General Stores

Offense: BURGLARY OF BUILDING       SAPD14113255 Complainant: DOLLAR GENERAL                                                         

Synopsis: On Monday May 26th, 2014 at approximately 12:30 am the Dollar General at 1007 Poteet-Jourdanton Freeway was burglarized.  The suspect shattered the glass entry door and entered the location.  Once inside the suspect gathered a large amount of cigarettes and fled the location.  On Tuesday May 27th, 2014 at approximately 4 am the Dollar General at 3350 S.W. Military Dr. was also burglarized.  The suspect used a brick to shatter the glass entry door and a glass cabinet containing cigarettes.  The suspect then collected the cigarettes and fled the location on foot.  Surveillance footage at both locations recorded the suspect committing the burglaries.  Investigators believe the same suspect is responsible for both burglaries and may be responsible for more.

Complainant: Jose Carlos Macy (20 years old)                                                         

Synopsis:  On Sunday May 3rd, 2014 at approximately 12:40 am Jose Macy was traveling westbound on his bicycle in the 2900 block of W. Commerce St. when he was struck from behind by an unidentified vehicle.  Mr. Macy was riding his bicycle in the designated bicycle lane and his bicycle was equipped with a safety light.   The driver of the unidentified vehicle fled the scene without stopping and rendering aid to Mr. Macy.  Mr. Macy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Synopsis: On Sunday May 31, 2014 at approximately 9:15  PM,

Lydia Mendoza was walking across the 6100 block of FM 78. 

Ms. Mendoza was struck by a small dark sedan. Ms. Mendoza was pronounced deceased at the scene from the injuries she received in the crash.  The small dark sedan never stopped to render aid or call for the police.

Synopsis:  On Friday February 28, 2014 at approximately 6 AM, two female suspects shattered a window and forced their way into the Walgreen’s located in the 7300 blk. of Barlite Blvd.  Both suspects were recorded by surveillance cameras as they went to the pharmacy area and removed a large amount of prescription narcotic medication and left the location.

5/28/2014 - Murder of Lorena Mendoza Smith

Complainant: Lorena Mendoza Smith                         46 years old

Synopsis:  On May 28th, 2011 at approximately 3:30 a.m. police responded for a shooting to the parking lot of a night club located at 13307 San Pedro. When police arrive they found Lorena Mendoza Smith suffering a gunshot wound. Witnesses stated they observed a red SUV parked next to Lorena’s vehicle seconds before the gunshot was heard. The red SUV was then seen fleeing from the location.

Synopsis: On Thursday May 8th, 2014 at approximately 7:40 p.m. the San Antonio Police responded to the 3500 block of Orkney for a report of a deceased individual found by a pedestrian. The body was later identified as Christopher Samuel Allen. Christopher had been reported missing by family members. The death has been ruled by a homicide the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Complainant:  Velia Rodriguez                            Age 82

Synopsis:  On Thursday April 3, 2014 at approximately 10 AM, an 82 year old female victim was at the Dollar Tree store located in the 2000 block of S.E. Loop 410.  The victim was approached by a hispanic male in his mid 30’s who told her that he needed assistance in cashing a lottery ticket. While speaking to the male, a female suspect (pictured above) approached the two.  Together both suspects convinced the victim to withdraw $15,000 dollars in cash from her checking account.  She was also taken back to her home in the suspect’s vehicle where she gave the suspects an additional $30,000 in cash, totaling $45,000.  The suspect vehicle was white, with a hard top, and four doors.
