6/20/2014 - Robbery-Business Dollar General 5831 Old Pearsall Rd.

Complainant: Dollar General                                                         

Synopsis:  On Sunday June 1, 2014 a robbery occurred at the Dollar General located at 5831 Old Pearsall Rd.  Two male suspects entered the business, gathered several items, and approached a cashier.  The cashier rang the merchandise up,  bagged the items, and presented the total.  When the suspects failed to pay for the items the cashier removed the bag and placed it behind the counter.  One of the suspects then went behind the counter, and injured the cashier by using force to grab the bagged merchandise.  Both suspects then fled the location on foot with the stolen items into a ditch behind the store.  Surveillance video at the location recorded the act.

6/17/2014 - Burglary Dollar General Stores

Offense: BURGLARY OF BUILDING       SAPD14113255 Complainant: DOLLAR GENERAL                                                         

Synopsis: On Monday May 26th, 2014 at approximately 12:30 am the Dollar General at 1007 Poteet-Jourdanton Freeway was burglarized.  The suspect shattered the glass entry door and entered the location.  Once inside the suspect gathered a large amount of cigarettes and fled the location.  On Tuesday May 27th, 2014 at approximately 4 am the Dollar General at 3350 S.W. Military Dr. was also burglarized.  The suspect used a brick to shatter the glass entry door and a glass cabinet containing cigarettes.  The suspect then collected the cigarettes and fled the location on foot.  Surveillance footage at both locations recorded the suspect committing the burglaries.  Investigators believe the same suspect is responsible for both burglaries and may be responsible for more.

6/13/2014 - Failure to Stop and Render Aid Victim Jose Macy

Complainant: Jose Carlos Macy (20 years old)                                                         

Synopsis:  On Sunday May 3rd, 2014 at approximately 12:40 am Jose Macy was traveling westbound on his bicycle in the 2900 block of W. Commerce St. when he was struck from behind by an unidentified vehicle.  Mr. Macy was riding his bicycle in the designated bicycle lane and his bicycle was equipped with a safety light.   The driver of the unidentified vehicle fled the scene without stopping and rendering aid to Mr. Macy.  Mr. Macy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Synopsis: On Sunday May 31, 2014 at approximately 9:15  PM,

Lydia Mendoza was walking across the 6100 block of FM 78. 

Ms. Mendoza was struck by a small dark sedan. Ms. Mendoza was pronounced deceased at the scene from the injuries she received in the crash.  The small dark sedan never stopped to render aid or call for the police.

Synopsis:  On Friday February 28, 2014 at approximately 6 AM, two female suspects shattered a window and forced their way into the Walgreen’s located in the 7300 blk. of Barlite Blvd.  Both suspects were recorded by surveillance cameras as they went to the pharmacy area and removed a large amount of prescription narcotic medication and left the location.

5/28/2014 - Murder of Lorena Mendoza Smith

Complainant: Lorena Mendoza Smith                         46 years old

Synopsis:  On May 28th, 2011 at approximately 3:30 a.m. police responded for a shooting to the parking lot of a night club located at 13307 San Pedro. When police arrive they found Lorena Mendoza Smith suffering a gunshot wound. Witnesses stated they observed a red SUV parked next to Lorena’s vehicle seconds before the gunshot was heard. The red SUV was then seen fleeing from the location.

Synopsis: On Thursday May 8th, 2014 at approximately 7:40 p.m. the San Antonio Police responded to the 3500 block of Orkney for a report of a deceased individual found by a pedestrian. The body was later identified as Christopher Samuel Allen. Christopher had been reported missing by family members. The death has been ruled by a homicide the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Complainant:  Velia Rodriguez                            Age 82

Synopsis:  On Thursday April 3, 2014 at approximately 10 AM, an 82 year old female victim was at the Dollar Tree store located in the 2000 block of S.E. Loop 410.  The victim was approached by a hispanic male in his mid 30’s who told her that he needed assistance in cashing a lottery ticket. While speaking to the male, a female suspect (pictured above) approached the two.  Together both suspects convinced the victim to withdraw $15,000 dollars in cash from her checking account.  She was also taken back to her home in the suspect’s vehicle where she gave the suspects an additional $30,000 in cash, totaling $45,000.  The suspect vehicle was white, with a hard top, and four doors.

5/8/2014 - Murder of Eleanor Rodriguez

Complainant:  Eleanor Rodriguez                       Age: 43

Synopsis:  At approximately 8 AM on Friday May 17, 2013, officers responded to a stabbing in the 5700 of Harefield.  Upon their arrival they discovered a victim located in the front yard of the residence suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim, identified as Eleanor Rodriguez, 43 years old, was transported to University Hospital where she died from her wounds. Her death was later ruled a homicide. It was learned the attack began inside the residence and there were indications of forced entry into the home. At some point the victim was able to flee the residence before collapsing in her front yard. The inside of the residence appeared to have been searched and ransacked during the crime.

Needed to Solve the Case:  Any information on possible suspicious persons or vehicles in the area of Yellow Knife on the morning of Friday April 25, 2014.

Synopsis:  On Friday April 25, 2014 the body of Alma DeLaRosa was discovered inside her home in the 8700 block of Yellow Knife. Alma died of blunt trauma to her head.

4/24/2014 - Murder of Kelvin L. Brown

Synopsis:  On Saturday March 22, 2014 at approximately 2:30am Kelvin L. Brown was with friends in the parking lot of the Whataburger located in the 8400 block of Broadway. While Kelvin was talking to his friends, a black Chrysler PT Cruiser drove up towards Kelvin. One of the occupants of the PT Cruiser yelled something to Kelvin. Kelvin turned towards the vehicle and asked what had been said to him. According to witnesses the driver of the PT Cruiser pulled out a gun and shot Kelvin once in the chest. The suspect vehicle fled the location towards an unknown direction. Kelvin Brown died at the scene.

4/17/2014 - Robbery-Business Arby`s Restaurant 9500 Block San Pedro Ave.

Synopsis:  On Monday February 3, 2014 at approximately 7:30 PM two males drove into the parking lot of Arby’s located in the 9500 block of San Pedro Ave.  The driver reversed the car, a red Ford Crown Victoria with a silver top into a parking spot.  The driver then exited the vehicle while the passenger stayed inside, and walked to the rear of the car where he flipped the license plate down.  The suspect, then entered the restaurant and approached the cashier.  The suspect demanded that the cashier give him all the money in the register and motioned that he was carrying a gun.  The cashier fearing for her life immediately complied. The suspect then took the money and fled the location in the vehicle northbound on San Pedro Ave.
