In July, Crime Stoppers was recognized by SAPD for their donation of equipment to the Cold Case Unit of Homicide.  Assistant Chief Harry Griffin and Deputy Chief Bonales presented Bob Vallance, Crime Stoppers President, a certificate.  Then DC Bonales recognized Bodo Knochenhaur for initiating the donation.

To kick off the announcement of the Campus Crime Stoppers program at SAISD, the school held a poster contest in which students were able to participate.  SAISD will have programs at each middle school and high school beginning August 9.

People can now text message when they see crimes

Crime Stoppers now has a new tool to help fight crime and it`s something you see everybody doing now days, texting. That was the message delivered Friday afternoon at the San Antonio Police Department.

Joining Police Chief William McManus for the unveiling was Crime Stoppers President Bob Vallence.

In addition, to dialing 9-1-1 or 224-STOP to report a crime, people can now send a text message and get the same results.
