On Friday, July 31, 2020 at 4:32 am, SAPD Officers received a call for a shooting in progress. Callers reported hearing and screaming. Additional details given were that three males had fled the location on Oblate toward San Pedro on foot. When officers arrived they discovered the victim deceased on the sidewalk along the 7600 Block of McCullough Ave.  The victim had been shot twice. The victim was later identified as Darnilio Garza. Garza was pronounced deceased at the scene. Garza had suffered two gunshot wounds.

When Garza’s cell phone was examined it was learned he had received an Instagram message to meet the sender outside his house moments before the shooting. The account screen name was “stretchgangbaby.”. Seeking any details from the public to identify this suspect. (Original release 8/12/2021).
