On May 4, 2022, at 4:30 pm, Andrew Jacob Rangel had just gotten off work and was traveling south on IH 35 (highway), when the suspect in a silver Buick Lesabre pulled up next to Andrew’s silver Honda Civic.  The suspect in the Buick Lesabre fired several shots at Andrew as they were driving.  Andrew was struck by gunfire and lost control of his vehicle and crashed.  Andrew died at the scene.    

The shooting occurred on the highway as they were passing SAMMC hospital and the crash occurred just past Binz Engleman. The suspect in the Buick Lesabre continued traveling south after the shooting. The suspect vehicle is a 2001/2002 Buick Lesabre, silver in color, no window tint, dark interior, an antenna on rear right window, and black rims that appear not to be from the manufacture.  

Crime Stoppers will pay a guaranteed $10,000 until July 22, 2023, for information which leads to the arrest of the individual(s) involved in the Murder of Victim Andrew Jacob Rangel on the 4000 Blk of IH 35 N. SB (Original release May 15, 2022).
