On Wednesday March 22, 2023, the victim was traveling eastbound on US HWY 90 W. on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The victim was traveling behind a white Toyota Camry at a high rate of speed. The Toyota Camry was also traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver of the Toyota Camry applied the brakes, causing the motorcycle to rear-end Toyota Camry. The victim then struck the center protective cable dividing the eastbound and westbound lanes of travel. The victim sustained multiple injuries to include life threatening injuries and the loss of a leg. The driver of the Toyota Camry then fled the location without attempting to provide any type of aid to the victim. Bystanders stopped at the scene and to provide aid the victim. The victim was transported to University Hospital by EMS.
