On Sunday, October 8, 2023, at 10:15 PM, A group of young adults were causing a disturbance at the Estates at Crown Ridge Apartments swimming pool located at 20614 Stone Oak Pkwy.  Apartment management asked the adults to leave.  One of the suspects discharged the a firearm in an unknown direction at the entrance of the apartment complex before fleeing in a vehicle with at least two other occupants. The vehicle returned to the apartment complex as officers were conducting their investigation into the shooting and when officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect again fled in the vehicle. The police helicopter located the suspect vehicle and its occupants at a nearby Whataburger located at 2203 Evans Rd. Seeing the suspect had been located by the helicopter, the suspect pointed a firearm at the police helicopter which was occupied by two uniformed SAPD officers. When officers again attempted to stop the vehicle, the vehicle fled. Three of the suspects including the driver of the vehicle were apprehended at the time of the incident. However, at least three other individuals are suspected to be party to the listed offenses.
