At approximately 4:50 AM, on Thursday, 11/4/2024, a male Victim was found lying on the roadway by the IH 37 S southbound ramp at Cesar Chavez Blvd. The Victim was shot and unresponsive. The Victim, Jerry Lee Handley, was pronounced deceased at the scene by San Antonio Fire Department EMS. Where the victim was found is next to several apartment complexes. During the course of the investigation, investigators discovered a call for shots fired was received 20 minutes prior to the discovery of the Mr. Handley. One of the witnesses to the shots fired call, stated they saw a male and female running through the apartment complexes after the gunshots. Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance reviewing their security video for any video that may have captured any activity during this timeframe.
