Synopsis:
On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 9:24 pm, a pedestrian was hit by two vehicles while crossing Culebra Road. The first vehicle, a white Mazda 3, was traveling west in the second lane when it struck the pedestrian and fled the scene without stopping and rendering aide.
Shortly after, an orange SUV traveling in the third lane also hit the pedestrian. The driver of the SUV did not stop and render aide. Surveillance footage shows the SUV driver stopping at the Valero/Circle K gas station at 1419 Culebra Road, inspecting the vehicle, and then driving back towards the crash scene. (Second white vehicle is a stock photo). The victim, Roman Gonzalez, passed away as a result of his injuries.
