Synopsis:

On Sunday, August 30, 2026, San Antonio (TX) Police Department officers from the Downtown patrol unit responded to 600 Hemisfair Plaza Way for a dispatched shooting in progress. The shooting happened on a new basketball court, that is next to the Tower of the Americas. Upon arrival officers located a 35-year-old male victim, identified as Jonathan Henry Alderete, with a single gunshot wound to the chest. Jonathan was transported to SAMMC where he was pronounced deceased. Jonathan was at the park with three (3) witnesses. While at Hemisfair Plaza park, Jonathan, and the three (3) witnesses left their basketball which was taken by four (4) subjects who relocated to a new basketball court near the Tower of the Americas with the ball. Video evidence from SAPD Park Police showed Alderete getting into a physical altercation with one (1) specific suspect, later identified to be Isean Eugene Hardeman (arrested on 9/2/26, #2026-W-10258101– Murder warrant related to this case). Video evidence was collected throughout the downtown San Antonio area; one of the three (3) suspects who was with Isean Hardeman is unknown and is looking to be identified. His images are attached; this unknown subject has long dread-style hair, black hooded sweatshirt, red shorts, and is approximately 5’10’’ to 5’-11’’, 20-24 years old (Suspect pictured).
