ARRESTED
On 12/17/2020 at 9:19pm, Bexar County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 7300 Rubens Drive for a shooting. Fourteen year old, Bobby Carter and Eighteen year old, Robert Smith were shot and an unknown vehicle fled the scene after the shooting. Carter and Smith were transported to SAMMC where they succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead shortly after.
Investigators responded to the scene to help with the investigation. Various people within the neighborhood heard the gunfire and numerous spent cartridges (bullets) were collected on the street pavement near the victim’s vehicle that sustained heavy damage from gunfire.
It was found during interviews, two individuals armed with weapons approached the vehicle and a witness states that two unknown individuals started shooting at the victim’s vehicle prior to fleeing in a secondary vehicle. No other information at this time on the unknown suspects.
The two suspects have been identified as JAYLEN DEARS and JAMES ALEXANDER MILLER. Dears has been taken into custody and JAMES MILLER remains at large with an active arrest warrant for CAPITAL MURDER.
On January 7, 2021, James Alexander Miller turned himself in for BCSO Warrant # 1747345, Capital Murder. Case # 2020-BCSO-023626.
